Periodontal Care

Periodontal conditions can be dangerous if not treated early. What starts out as inflammation of the gums can lead to severe discomfort, infection and even tooth loss. Periodontitis is also connected to heart disease and other health risks. If you suspect gum disease, please schedule a visit with Dreier Family Dental today.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is a restorative treatment that’s required if your tooth has become infected. A tooth infection occurs when damage to your tooth from a cavity or an oral injury destroys the strong outer layers of the tooth. When this happens, the vulnerable “pulp” inside the tooth is exposed to oral bacteria, and becomes infected. The pulp is full of the nerves and blood vessels that keep your tooth alive, so if it becomes infected, it will eventually decay and die, resulting in tooth loss.

To prevent this from happening, root canal therapy is used. This procedure involves creating a hole in your tooth, removing damaged material, and disinfecting the tooth. Then, Dr. Brandon Dreier will fill the tooth up with an inert substance to protect its structure, and restore the tooth with a filling or a dental crown.

With root canal therapy, you can get relief from the pain and discomfort of an infected tooth, and prevent further complications such as tooth loss, which would cost you more time and money to resolve. Don’t wait. If you have a toothache, schedule a consultation at our office right away.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are used to restore one or more adjacent missing teeth using two dental crowns. These two crowns are attached to your remaining healthy teeth once they’ve been trimmed. Once your teeth have been trimmed, a bridge will be created that will attach to them and suspend one or more false teeth (pontics) in the gap where your missing tooth or missing teeth used to be.

Compared to partial dentures, dental bridges look and feel more natural, since they don’t ever move or shift in your mouth. Dental bridges are also a good alternative to dental implants, since they are usually less expensive and can be placed in only 2-3 weeks, which is much faster than the 3-6 month treatment time required by implants.

In addition, getting a dental bridge helps prevent teeth shifting, which is a common problem if you’ve lost one or more of your teeth. After tooth loss, the rest of your teeth will tend to shift toward the empty socket, which can ruin your bite and tooth alignment. With a bridge, you won’t have to worry about this complication.

The Benefits Of Restorative Dentistry

First and foremost, restorative dentistry provides you with relief from your pain and discomfort. A serious cavity, infected tooth, or broken tooth can be extremely painful, and interfere with your ability to live your day-to-day life. Getting treatment from Dr. Brandon Dreier will ensure that you get relief, and can get back to your normal lifestyle.

Additionally, restorative dentistry helps prevent further complications, particularly when you get treatment early. Getting a filling for a deep cavity, for example, may prevent a tooth infection from occurring in the future. If you don’t get the care you need right away, you may develop future dental issues that will cost you more time and money to resolve.

Finally, restorative dentistry can restore your self-confidence and self-esteem. If you have a damaged or missing tooth, you may not feel great about how your smile looks. But Dr. Brandon Dreier can help. With his experience in both restorative dentistry and cosmetic dental care, Dr. Dreier can restore both your smile and your bite.
